Ocular Cysticercosis: Diving Into Depths of Sclera and Cornea

Ocular cysticercosis is a common parasitic infection in tropical countries. It can have varied presentations depending on the site of involvement, the number of lesions, and the host’s immune response. Owing to its varied presentation, it may pose a diagnostic challenge to ophthalmologists. This chapter highlights one such unusual presentation in a 15-year-old child who presented with a long-standing subconjunctival cystic swelling. The swelling was found to be extending into the adjacent cornea and sclera. The chapter focuses on highlighting challenges faced in the diagnosis and surgical management of this peculiar case.
