Ensuring the health of aquatic animals is crucial for food, nutritional security and economic benefits from aquaculture and to maintain a better environmental balance, by taking care of well-being of both wild (natural) and captive aquatic organisms. It encompasses the detection of aquatic diseases, water quality, and the ways and means to maintain sound health of the aquatic animals and their environment.
