Prevention and Reduction of Risk of AD: Lifestyle Changes, Dietary Changes, Supplements, and More
摘要
The imperative necessity for prevention-centered public health approaches is underscored by the global increase in dementia and (AD), particularly considering the absence of definitive cures. This chapter explores the diverse risk factors associated with these conditions, including genetic factors, vascular and metabolic conditions, and lifestyle choices. It emphasizes the importance of early-stage, comprehensive prevention strategies, as the results of interventions that concentrate on individual risk factors have been inconsistent. Methods to prevent cognitive decline and dementia in senior adults with varying risk profiles are currently being investigated in current research, which includes trials conducted in Europe. Furthermore, pharmaceutical research is increasingly focused on the prevention of AD prior to the onset of cognitive symptoms. This chapter serves as a critical resource for understanding and addressing these conditions by synthesizing insights from ongoing trials and observational studies, providing a comprehensive overview of present and future prevention strategies.
