Menopause and Cancer Risk
摘要
Menopause does not cause cancer, but the risk of developing cancer increases with age. Among gynaecological cancers, cervical cancer is the most common, followed by ovarian and endometrial cancer and rarely vulval and vaginal cancer. Most of these postmenopausal women are oblivious to these malignancies and their symptoms. Also, the non-specific nature of these symptoms lead women to mistake these aberrations as normal part of menopause.
