摘要

Menopause is known as a transitional period of life associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. A metabolic syndrome is a key event in the pathogenesis of these well-known aging satellites. The conventional management of menopause is based on hormonal replacement therapy. The chapter presents a novel approach to advancing therapy for climacteric disorders. Weight gain and increased body mass index were the main factors for insulin resistance, atherogenicity, and menopausal disorders. The use of a 3-month program including diet, xylitol, and L-arginine solutions contributed to the reduction of Cooperman’s score, chronic inflammation reduction, and lipid and carbohydrate metabolism reestablishment. This program could help us to make another step improving women’s health during their perimenopausal years.
