Cognitive Behavior Therapy in Menopause
摘要
Menopause is a natural event that occurs in women in their life cycles. It is the endpoint of the reproductive period which is marked by a decrease in estrogen levels in the body. Low estrogen levels have a detrimental impact on menopausal women with symptoms of hot flushes, night sweats, palpitations, and sexual and psychosocial disturbances that can reduce their quality of life. Hormonal therapy (HT) is the first choice for relieving menopausal symptoms, however, HT has a detrimental effect. Cognitive behavioral therapy is an alternative therapy option that is quite effective and safe for reducing symptoms due to menopause.
