PropARt: Augmented Reality-Enabled Multi-furniture Placement Application
摘要
Augmented Reality (AR) can be utilized to accurately position and scale virtual objects in real-world settings, enhancing user interaction and experience. The project involves the development of an AR-based system that utilizes computer vision techniques to recognize and map the physical environment. By leveraging camera input and sensor data from the user’s device, the system identifies surfaces, objects, and spatial features. Users are then able to select virtual objects from a library and position them within the physical space in real time. Furthermore, the study explores the challenge of scaling virtual objects to match real-world proportions accurately. The proposed system implements algorithms to estimate distances and dimensions, enabling users to resize virtual objects with precision. This functionality is particularly useful for tasks such as interior design, architectural planning, and interactive educational experiences. The research methodology involves designing and implementing the AR system, conducting user studies to evaluate its accuracy and usability, and analyzing the collected data to assess the system’s performance. The results indicate that the AR-based object placement and scaling system offers a seamless and intuitive way for users to interact with virtual content in their real-world environment. In conclusion, the study contributes to the advancement of AR technology by addressing the challenges of accurate object placement and scaling in real-world contexts. The developed system demonstrates the potential of AR to revolutionize various industries, including design, education, and entertainment, by providing users with a powerful tool for visualizing and manipulating virtual objects within their physical surroundings.
