Diagnosis and Management of TIA

Rapid accurate diagnosis of TIA is essential to reduce the risk of development of stroke. This chapter reviews how TIA is defined and its epidemiology. The importance of a skilled history from the patient and any witnesses is emphasised with the key clinical features described. The key investigations are described and the evidence for management reviewed.
