Building construction is a production activity during the implementation stage of engineering construction. This article focused on the important building structure and energy-saving control work as the main research object. Due to some disadvantages of traditional construction engineering, this paper decided to use BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology to optimize these two works. Moreover, this article also conducted a survey experiment on a certain construction project, comparing the resource consumption and pollution discharge of BIM with the estimated resource consumption and pollution discharge of traditional construction. The resource consumption and pollution discharge of BIM were significantly lower than the estimated, such as the estimated sewage discharge of 315.0 m3/m3, while BIM's sewage discharge volume is 285.6 m3/m3, indicating the powerful functions of BIM.
