With the advancement of equipment support informatization construction and the transformation of technical data from paper-based to digital, many units are embarking on the development of IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manual). However, due to the inconsistent standards followed, the display, function, data structure, and coding of IETM for similar equipment are not the same, and effective data exchange cannot be conducted, Technical information can only be converted and cannot be interoperated. The standardization of the display content, display interface, display functions, data structure, and coding of the IETM is a successful solution to the need for the transition from paper-based technical materials to digital, structured, interactive, and intelligent technical materials. Existing technical data and manuals often use paper as a storage medium, resulting in large volume and weight, high cost, long organization cycles, untimely updates, and inconvenient use. This article first introduces the basic concepts of computer-aided technology (CAT) and the design of IETM system, then applies CAT to the design of an IETM system to improve the quality of system design. Finally, through practical analysis of the capabilities of CAT, an IETM system that satisfies the requests is designed. The experimental results show that using a questionnaire of design system staff and design methods can explain the low efficiency of traditional design methods. Therefore, the rational use of CAT for the design of IETM systems is a very worthy research topic.

摘要
