A Study on the Effectiveness of a VR Training Programme in the Property Management Industry

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) training in managing accidental incidents within shopping malls, commercial properties, and residential properties. It also aimed to share the experiences and feedback obtained from the VR training program within the property management industry in Hong Kong. The research focused on employees of a reputable yet representative property management company in Hong Kong. We employed the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model as the research methodology to construct the survey. An online survey was anonymously distributed to staff members who underwent VR training via the property management company's multi-media platform, aiming to assess the effectiveness of the training and their inclination to apply the acquired knowledge when dealing with accidental incidents in the workplace. With 279 completed survey responses from the trainees, the findings revealed that the VR training program effectively facilitated the application of learned skills in real-life situations. Overall, this research provides insights into the increasing significance and effectiveness of VR training in the property management industry, offering valuable perspectives on the application and impact of innovative training methods in real-life scenarios.
