The objective of this research paper is to explain the possible solutions to ensure the availability of pool of talented resource against employee attrition and create more employment opportunities. Retaining skilled personnel is extremely difficult for organizations in the competitive world of today. In this information age thinking era, industries are facing the problem of very high attrition rates (~20–25%). While some organizations are making efforts to reevaluate employee-friendly well-being policies, such as retention programs, this is only partially addressing the issue of excessive attrition but unable to resolve the concern of high attrition fully. One of the solutions to reduce attrition and to keep the pool of talented resources with the organization is start hiring apprentices. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) under government of India also encourages hiring of apprentices. The Indian government's Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) promotes apprenticeship hiring, which is aimed to promote apprenticeship training in the country by building capacity. Considering the example from pharmaceutical industries, it is really challenging for the organizations to retain the people. When the organization hires new candidates from outside and production volumes increase, the errors go up due to cognitive overload. It has been observed that it takes three to four months for the new entrant to complete the robust qualification processes. Hence, it is recommended for the organization to start hiring NAPS to maintain a specific ratio of NAPS to experienced people from other organizations and provide the theoretical and practical (on-the-job training) knowledge as per United States Pharmacopeia (USP) training material. By the time of nine to twelve months, NAPS become fully trained to perform complex activities. Based on their performance evaluation, NAPS can be hired quickly against the vacant positions created due to attrition. Clearer career progression keeps the employees motivated and helps to improve employee retention, thereby reducing the possibilities of errors. National Apprenticeship Promotion Schemes (NAPS) launched by Government of India have proven to be win-win situation for both the NAPS as well as for the organizations. It creates more employment opportunities in the industries. NAPS hiring scheme helps the organizations in improving productivity and happier employees.
