Dynamical Properties of Directed Transport in a Lattice System at the Nanoscale

  • Takaaki Kawaguchi

摘要

The dynamical properties of the directed transport in nanoscale systems have been studied using computer simulations based on a lattice model. Directed transport of atoms or molecules are an important phenomenon in nanotechnology because it has been considered as an effective method for driving nanomachines. In this study, using a spatiotemporal modulation method, the directed transport of atomic lattices are induced under certain conditions. We investigate the dynamical properties of the directed transport using numerical simulations based on a lattice model where impurity-type disorder of a substrate is taken into account. We clarify the effect of interfacial disorder on the directed transport on the basis of the concept of impurity pinning.
