Institutionalization of High-Energy Physics in Japan
摘要
The high-energy physics (HEP) in Japan started around 1960s by performing experiments using ES at INS and making the “Future Plan of Nuclear Physics Research” to build a high energy accelerator, and the community of the HEP physicists was also created by performing the future plan. This process completed when the National Laboratory for High Energy Physics (KEK) was established as an Inter-University Research Institute, which was a research facility of a new type. In this article the history of how they were established and some consideration on its historical background.
