Indigenous design and development of 11-m full motion antenna system works in C band and requires pointing accuracy of 0.03°. Antenna was designed based on the satellite ranging purposes and customer specific. The narrow beam width, pointing to the satellite and its initial acquisition in program or auto tracking mode becomes very stringent. There are fixed and random type mechanical subsystem error will affect the antenna pointing accuracy. Therefore, proper alignment of antenna subsystems is essential during installation of antenna systems. This paper highlights the Mechanical installation and commissioning of IRCDR [IRNSS (Indian Regional Navigation Satellite system) Code Division Multiple Access Ranging Station] 11-m full motion antenna system. The stringent specification was achieved through unique alignment procedures, measurements of Reflector RMS (Root Mean Square), alignment of backlash of gear systems, sub reflector alignments, mechanical balancing, encoder fixing, etc. All the measurements were carried out through precision instruments.

摘要
