Energy Efficient Cluster-Based Routing Optimization Technique for Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks may have a much longer operational lifetime if an effective clustering approach were used (WSNs). The “hotspot” problem, in which the Cluster Head (CH) nearest to the base station dies out more rapidly than nodes further from the base as a consequence of inter-cluster communication, is the most urgent concern in a multi-hop based clustered network. In addition, no previous works have taken into account dependability and efficient elements combined for providing cutting-edge data-intensive applications under WSN. This paper suggests a Cluster-based Routing Optimization (CRO) technique that uses a two-stage model to address research issues: first, an effective CH selection strategy to boost efficiency; and second, routing optimization for delivering an application subject to a quality-of-service limitation. The experimental results support the effectiveness of the suggested routing approach in raising the energy efficiency of the network.
