Science fiction is one of the most intriguing genres in cinematic narratives, and it continues to inspire scientists to develop technologies that can revolutionize the way we perceive robots and automated technologies. From trailblazing designs and anthropomorphic characters, researchers in the robotic industry have allowed humankind to witness what was once thought to be fictitious. Social and surgical robots physically exist and have been in medical practice for many years now. Robotic nurses and healthcare assistants have stepped out of science fiction movies and continue to provide better care to patients. The rapidly growing unprecedented experiments have also made miniature robots materialize in reality. This paper makes a modest attempt to explore the fascinating world of medical robotics and assess the field of robotics in health care influenced by its programming in science fiction and related entertainment. The article also highlights the influence of such gadgets in providing ultra-advanced service to humankind.
