Following a two-year review, in June 2022, AMS2750G™ was published by SAE International®. This change in the interval was a break in the regular five-year study and marked a new era in the rapid development of standards to meet the industry's current and future needs. This paper outlines the fundamental changes within the specification and discusses the reasons for inclusion. The current differences between AMS2750G and other standards (e.g., CQI9) are noted in a broader context of industry progress. The eight fundamental changes can be subdivided into: The changes reflect the ever-changing manufacturing world and the requirement to produce higher-quality components across all industries. For example, aerospace is pushing for improved performance from new fuel-efficient engines and different fuel sources, and Automotive requires new gear systems for Electric vehicles. Heat Treatment and associated standards are evolving to meet the higher levels of performance needed from heat-treated components.
