摘要
This chapter reviews previous research in four aspects: sustainable urban development and residents’ life satisfaction (LS), multi-functionality of urban agriculture (MFUA), creative class (CC) and urban agriculture (UA), and social capital (SC) and urban community. Urban agriculture has multiple functions, providing not only fresh and safe agricultural products but also a wide range of environmental and social services. Thus, urban agriculture plays an important role in improving attractiveness and livability of cities and attracts creative classes (CC) to arrive. Creative classes who have a higher level of SC and social entrepreneurship (SE) are playing an important role in urban governance and community building. Some of them as social entrepreneurs to lead social innovation in solving social problems through urban agriculture programs. And these new types of urban agriculture programs, which emphasize residents’ participation and stakeholders’ cooperation, contribute to the formation and accumulation of SC of residents.
