Mansi Choksi, a journalist and nonfiction writer, was born on September 27, 1985, in Mumbai. She got her bachelor’s degree in mass media and journalism from Mumbai University in 2007. From 2007 to 2012, she worked as a Feature-writer with The Times of India covering shipping, crime, gender, and environment. In 2012–2013, she got a Fulbright Nehru Master’s Fellowship for Leadership Development to attend Columbia School of Journalism. Proficient in English, Gujarati, and Hindi, and partially proficient in Urdu and Marathi, Choksi is known for her investigative reportage and has worked as an independent journalist with The New York Times, The New Yorker, VICE, Time, Harper’s Magazine, National Geographic, The Atlantic, and Al Jazeera. Currently, she lives in Dubai with her husband Suhail Rajpal and son Kabir.
