Anubha Mehta is a Canadian author and artist of Indian origin. Born in 1967, she attended Modern School in New Delhi and obtained a BA with honors from Delhi University and a MA and PhD in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. In 2000, she and her husband immigrated to Canada. Fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, she has also excelled as a Bharatnatyam performer, theater artist, television personality, journalist, and poet. Mehta is associated with various organizations, including the Canadian Writers Union, Canadian Authors Association, Mississauga Arts Council, Writers & Editors Network, Mississauga Writers Group, United Way South Asian Advisory Council, Founding Member of the Regional Diversity Roundtable, and numerous other networks. She is actively involved with nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) in Canada and India, focusing on women’s empowerment, liberation via education, and the mobilization of local communities.
