This paper presents a comprehensive study of blockchain-enabled personal data marketplaces, focusing on the application of NFTs for data representation and trading. We analyze four prominent EVM-supported platforms: Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Fantom, and Celo, to determine their suitability for implementing a decentralized data trading ecosystem. The study addresses the limitations of traditional centralized data management systems, particularly in terms of user privacy, control, and fair compensation. We propose a smart contract-based framework that leverages NFTs to represent personal data assets, enabling transparent pricing and secure transactions. Our evaluation encompasses key metrics such as transaction fees, gas costs, and overall platform efficiency. The findings provide insights into the optimal blockchain infrastructure for personal data marketplaces, considering factors like scalability, cost-effectiveness, and user experience. This research contributes to the ongoing development of user-centric data management solutions in the digital economy, offering a balanced approach that considers the interests of data owners, consumers, and platform operators.
