Viral Infectious Diseases of the Cornea
摘要
In this chapter, a detailed visual portrayal of viral infections affecting the ocular surface is presented. High-definition images provide clinicians with a comprehensive overview of the morphological impacts of herpes simplex virus (HSV), depicting both primary and recurrent manifestations of the disease, ranging from blepharitis to dendritic keratitis. Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) eye diseases are illuminated through photographs of dermatoblepharitis, conjunctivitis, and the characteristic pseudodendrites in keratitis. The chapter also depicts images on adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis, recurrent viral keratitis, and viral keratitis with secondary bacterial keratitis. This chapter not only serves as a diagnostic aid for these complex viral entities but also underscores the diverse presentations that challenge clinicians, emphasizing the importance of correlating clinical signs with virological investigations for accurate diagnosis and management.
