The effects of pollution on the earth and its inhabitants are worsening at an alarming pace. One of the most promising solutions lies in the transportation system, particularly through the adoption of electric cars. While recent developments in electric vehicles have focused on enhancing ride comfort, the priority now should shift to optimizing energy efficiency. To achieve this, it is crucial to revisit the origins of the automobile. A potential solution can be found in hybrid energy storage systems (HESS). This work focuses on designing and implementing an effective energy management system for electric vehicles (EVs) equipped with an active HESS, which combines a battery and a super capacitor. It also addresses the incorporation of load sharing into this hybridization across various load-demand scenarios. An energy management algorithm has been developed, and its performance has been evaluated using MATLAB. In addition to the software, a hardware prototype was created and tested.

摘要
