GCDSC-PLL and Enhanced Instantaneous Power Theory Based UPQC for Power Quality Improvement

The use of nonlinear and electronically switched devices in distribution systems has resulted in an increase in power quality issues over the past few years. To address these issues, a new control strategy based on generalized cascaded delayed signal cancellation phase-locked loop and enhanced instantaneous power theory-based UPQC is being used. In unbalanced and distorted load conditions, a new signal decomposition is presented in this study. In general, traditional PLLs perform better in balanced situations but are unable to perform better in disrupted and unbalanced conditions, which promotes the idea of GCDSC-PLL for improved performance. For all instances of any balanced loadings, any unbalanced loadings, and any distorted voltage sources, the EIPT provides a suitable decomposition of current components. This paper proposes a new GCDSC-PLL and Enhanced Instantaneous Power theory based UPQC control approach and its performance is contrasted with IPT-based UPQC.
