摘要

One well-known biopolymer that is frequently utilized in drug delivery applications is hyaluronic acid (HA). Targeted drug administration is made easier by HA’s inherent qualities, which include compatibility, degradability, and the capacity to bind with CD44 receptors in both normal and cancerous cells. The basic principles of HA-based composite polymers utilized in drug delivery applications are the focus of this chapter. Additionally, this chapter will describe a more comprehensive understanding of the design and characterization methodologies used to produce composite HA, while concentrating on the latest developments in the synthesis and fabrication procedures involved in Composite HA. The chapter examines the synergistic effect of mixing HA with organic, inorganic materials, and polymeric properties for release kinetics.
