Cyclodextrin-Based Composites in Drug Delivery
摘要
This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of cyclodextrin-based composites, focusing on their design strategies, preparation methods, and pharmaceutical applications. It explores polymer–CD conjugates, CD-coated nanoparticles, lipid–CD hybrids, and CD-functionalized inorganic carriers, highlighting their performance in oral, nasal, ocular, parenteral, and targeted cancer therapies [1]. Special emphasis is placed on recent innovations, including stimuli-responsive CD systems, biodegradable nanosponges, and dual-delivery platforms. This chapter also discusses mechanistic aspects of drug release, safety considerations, and regulatory perspectives, alongside future research directions aimed at translating laboratory successes into clinically viable formulations. By integrating fundamental principles with the latest technological advancements, this chapter underscores the transformative potential of cyclodextrin-based composites in overcoming challenges in drug delivery science.
