SWMM-Based Flood Disaster Forecasting for Urban Substation

摘要

Substations and converter stations, as critical lifeline facilities, occupy a prominent position in urban flood prevention and waterlogging control efforts. This study focuses on researching on small-scale hydraulic characteristic units, targeting substations as the primary objective for flood control. The research reveals two major issues in applying this technology to substation or substation cluster flood management: firstly, the spatial resolution mismatch between meteorological models and small-scale Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) leading to significant fluctuations in the calculation of waterlogging levels; secondly, due to the small size of the study area, the regulation and storage effects are insignificant, resulting in large discrepancies between forecasted and actual water levels caused by minor disturbances. To address these issues, four specific improvement measures are proposed. This paper introduces a pioneering method of utilizing a virtual sluice gate mechanism with dynamic correction techniques to resolve the spatial resolution mismatch in small-scale hydraulic characteristic units. These measures hold groundbreaking significance for advancing the application of digital hydrology in refined decision-making and management for flood resilience in substations and substation clusters.
