Research on the Logic and Mechanism of Digital and Intelligent Transformation Empowering New Quality Productivity: A Case Study of East China’s Coastal

This study investigates the impact of digital economy development on the industrial composition of employment structure, focusing on the eastern provinces of China. The core research centers on an in-depth empirical analysis that employs an econometric model, integrating indicators of digital economy development with corresponding employment structure data from the eastern region. The research methodology followed a sequential process: defining the research problem, constructing a comprehensive indicator system, collecting and processing data, performing model estimation and robustness checks, and finally, analyzing the empirical results. The findings demonstrate that the digital economy has significantly propelled the transformation of the employment structure in the eastern region towards high-skilled and service-oriented sectors. Based on these conclusions, we propose several policy recommendations: The government should increase investment in digital infrastructure to narrow the regional digital divide; strengthen vocational skills training systems to enhance the digital literacy of the workforce; improve employment service platforms to optimize labor resource allocation; and establish a flexible social security mechanism to facilitate the smooth transition of the labor market and promote the coordinated development of the digital economy and employment structure.
