A Greedy-Based Approach for Simulating an Expert Packer’s Container Loading Strategy
摘要
This paper addresses the container loading problem, defining it as an offline packing optimization task. Based on on-site observations of the loading habits of experienced operators in real-world factory shipping scenarios, this study proposes two distinct loading strategies: First-in First-out (FIFO) and a Hybrid Strategy. The experimental results demonstrate that the Hybrid Strategy effectively enhances container spatial utilization and more closely aligns with the practical requirements of factory shipments. Moreover, the Hybrid Strategy is capable of packing significantly more boxes than the FIFO approach. This capability leads to a reduction in the number of containers required, thereby achieving the objective of lowering transportation costs.
