Application Prospect of Intelligent Wire Rope Processing Device in WLT System

摘要

Aiming at the problems of marine environment corrosion, complex pollutant adhesion, delayed defect detection and lack of full-life cycle management faced by wire ropes in the Wire Rope Tubing Tensioner (WLT) during long-term service, an integrated processing device with modular intelligent sensing for wire rope cleaning, lubrication and defect detection is designed. The developed system integrates functions including online cleaning and drying of wire ropes, uniform lubrication, intelligent defect detection based on multi-modal data fusion, and data-driven health status evaluation. The device can be designed based on the WLT system control architecture and Profibus/Profinet communication protocol, enabling seamless access to the PLC control cabinet and operation panel of MH/NOV systems, and realizing automation, intelligence and traceability of wire rope operation and maintenance. The design is expected to achieve a cleaning efficiency of over 95%, a lubrication uniformity of 98%, a defect detection accuracy of ≥98.5%, a remaining life prediction error of ≤±3%, effectively extending the service life of wire ropes by more than 30%. It will significantly reduce the operation and maintenance costs and safety risks of the tensioning system, providing technical support for improving the reliability of deep-sea oil and gas engineering equipment.
