Research on the Impact of Cultural Differences on International Project Safety Management and Countermeasures: A Case Study of the South China Sea Gas Hydrate Trial Production Project

With the deepening of China’s reform and opening-up and the acceleration of corporate internationalization, especially under the “Belt and Road” initiative, international cooperative projects are increasingly common. Significant differences in cultural backgrounds and management philosophies exist among different countries and regions, profoundly impacting safety management practices in international projects [1]. Based on the specific practices of international team collaboration and on-site safety management during the first two rounds of the South China Sea Gas Hydrate Trial Production Project, this paper analyzes the impacts of cultural, value, mindset, work habit, and facility differences on safety management. Corresponding countermeasures are proposed to promote the effective implementation of safety management in international projects.
