A Study on the Classification of Intelligent Visual Interaction Requirements and Design Priorities for Elderly Users Based on the Kano Model

摘要

As global aging accelerates, the digital divide among older adults is becoming increasingly evident. Intelligent visual interaction, a key direction in human-computer interaction, is essential for improving seniors’ social participation and quality of life. Using the Kano model and AI technologies, this study identifies and classifies elderly user needs into five dimensions: physiological adaptation, cognitive support, emotional connection, technological empowerment, and sensory compensation. Better-Worse coefficient analysis quantifies the impact of 16 specific needs—such as dialect-based voice interaction (One-dimensional Quality) and automatic depth-of-field adjustment (Must-be Quality)—on user satisfaction, clarifying design priorities. Results suggest that age-friendly design should prioritize Must-be and One-dimensional needs, while strategically incorporating Attractive ones. Beyond offering a clear priority list for product development, the study introduces a methodology that integrates Kano analysis with eye-tracking, providing practical guidance for inclusive, elderly-centered design.
