摘要

The skin is the largest organ in the body. It’s made up of three main layers: the outer epidermis, middle dermis, and the hypodermis. In India, melanoma of the skin is highest in northern India, for males 1.62 and females 1.21 per 1 lakh population. Overall incidence of non-melanoma and other skin cancers is highest in northeast India, for men 5.14 and women 3.98, for 1 lakh population. This is lower than the Western population. This chapter will explain the risk factors, evaluation, and staging of skin cancers. There is also a brief description regarding genetic syndromes associated with skin cancers.
