Presentation and Evaluation of Spinal Tumors

Tumors originating in or around the spinal cord can be either primary or metastatic. Spinal cord tumors are classified into three categories based on their site of origin: epidural tumors, intradural extramedullary tumors, and intramedullary tumors. The objectives of this chapter include providing an overview of the spinal tumors, giving a clinical insight into their presentation, and providing a synopsis of how to reach a diagnosis.
