摘要

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines disease screening as the presumptive identification of unrecognized disease in an apparently healthy, asymptomatic population using tests, examinations, or other procedures that can be applied rapidly and easily to the target population. Screening is recommended in certain cancers, while its role is doubtful in others. This chapter aims to describe various screening guidelines, their advantages, and pitfalls.
