Non-endoscopic Brow Lift in Periorbital Rejuvenation
摘要
Brow ptosis is the inferior displacement of eyebrow and associated fat pad from its typical anatomical position. In women, the eyebrow typically sits at the supraorbital rim and becomes arched as it extends laterally, often reaching its peak at the lateral limbus [1]. In men, the eyebrow typically sits at the level of supraorbital rim and has little to no arch [2]. The inferior displacement of the brow can lead to the displacement of the upper eyelid. In addition to being cosmetically displeasing, the resulting ptosis can lead to superior visual field deficits and headaches due to compensatory chronic engagement of the frontalis muscles. Working knowledge of the anatomy of the forehead-brow complex is useful in understanding the pathogenesis of brow ptosis, clinical evaluation, and approaches to surgical repair.
