Research on the Propagation Characteristics of Zero Mode Components of Traveling Waves in Transmission Lines
摘要
The use of traveling wave signals for fault location has been a topic of discussion for many years. There is a single end fault location method based on the difference between line mode and zero mode wave velocity. This method utilizes the difference between line mode and zero mode wave velocity to obtain the distance to the fault point by measuring the time difference between the arrival of line mode and zero mode at the detection point. This method is simple to implement, only requiring the detection of the first wave head for line mode and zero mode faults; There is no need to consider other interfering wave heads, and the reliability of the results is high. However, the above single end fault location methods based on line mode and zero mode wave velocity difference were obtained under the premise of a constant distributed parameter model of the line, and the results are overly idealized. This article studies the propagation characteristics of zero mode components of traveling waves in transmission lines using a frequency dependent distributed parameter model. On this basis, the problems and usage conditions of applying zero mode and line mode wave velocity difference methods in single end traveling wave fault location are proposed.
