Investigation on Withstand Voltage and Lifetime Characteristics of BST-Based Solid-State Pulse Forming Lines
摘要
High power pulse generator technology is moving in the direction of solid-state, compact, and stable working in a relative long time, and the solid-state pulse forming line is the high-voltage energy storage unit of the pulse generator, which directly determines the working characteristics of the output electrical pulse of the high-power pulse generator. In this paper, a solid-state pulse-forming line based on (Ba,Sr)TiO3 (BST) ceramic with “S”-shaped electrode structure was studied. Specially, the electric field distribution and pulse modulation performance of the PFL were analyzed numerically. Based on that, the withstand voltage characteristics of BST ceramic-based solid-state PFL were studied, and the breakdown voltage of BST-based solid-state PFL was 25 kV. The leakage resistance value of the BST-based solid-state pulse forming line after 2000 continuous pulses was further analyzed, and it was found that the leakage resistance value decreased exponentially with the increase of the number of experiments, and when the leakage resistance decreased from 5.961 MΩ to 87.781 kΩ, the solid-state pulse forming line broke down. Further, the lifetime characteristics of BST-based solid-state pulse-forming lines are analyzed, and a degradation model of the leakage resistance of BST-based solid-state pulse forming lines with the number of experiments is proposed to study the life characteristics of BST-based solid-state pulse forming lines, which provides technical support for the application of BST-based solid-state pulse forming lines in high power pulse technology.
