Development of GUI Mobile App and Simulation of Automated Field Line Painting Mobile Robot

This project focuses on the early stage of development of an autonomous mobile robot designed to paint accurate field lines on sports grounds using an integrated machine vision system where simulations from Proteus are presented as a result for early stage of development. Manual field marking processes are often time-consuming, labor-intensive, and prone to inaccuracies. To overcome these challenges, a Raspberry Pi 4B is used as the main processing unit, paired with a camera for real-time image processing. The proposed system enables the robot to follow predefined paths with minimal deviation, even on newly prepared fields with no existing lines. Field design templates can be uploaded through a custom tablet application, allowing for flexible operation without manual drawing. Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) and optional LiDAR sensors are proposed to enhance stability and navigation precision, particularly during turns or uneven terrain. Based on the simulations, the results show the feasibility of the development of the line painting robot using Proteus. This will be a major step for a reliable and cost-effective alternative to traditional marking methods where it will reduce potential human error and improve over- all efficiency. The planned combination of machine vision, sensor fusion, and wireless control makes the system suitable for both professional and amateur sports environments, with potential for further enhancement in future development.
