The terahertz (THz) spectral range is crucial for biomolecular detection sensors, because many biomolecules have characteristic vibration-rotation modes in the THz band. As artificial structure, metasurface can produce strong field concentration to increase the sensitivity of terahertz biomolecular sensing. By introducing bound states in the continuum (BICs) into metasurface design, the Q-factor can be tuned. And artificial intelligence (AI) technology could catch the connection of data, helping biomolecular sensing and metasurface design. This article introduce the frontier progress of BICs-based metasurface and the application of AI technology in terahertz metasurface biosensing.
