A folded waveguide (FW) slow wave structure (SWS) operating at G-band for the traveling wave tube (TWT) is designed. The dispersion characteristic and coupling impedance of the FW are analyzed. According to CST simulation results, the output power of the FW SWS is 145.4 W, the gain is 38.6 dB, and the efficiency of beam-wave interaction is 9.1% under an electron beam of 20 kV voltage and 80 mA current when the input power is 20 mW. In the frequency range of 212 GHz to 217 GHz, the output power exceeds 100 W, with a gain exceeding 37 dB.
