This chapter has four main aims. First, it synthesises and analyses key themes that assist in understanding the contributions of Argentina and Australia in the development of Antarctic law at critical moments in Antarctic history. Second, it identifies the various factors that have helped these two states to manage geopolitical tensions in the Antarctic. Third, it draws lessons on how Argentina and Australia could use Antarctic law to manage current and future geopolitical tensions. Fourth, it offers seven practical recommendations that these two states might implement to uphold and strengthen Antarctic law against current and future geopolitical challenges. The chapter ultimately discusses the central role of Antarctic law in maintaining order and stability and fostering collaboration in a region of paramount importance for the Antarctic community and international society.
