The Future of Immunotherapy

  • Xiaobo He

摘要

Helicobacter pylori poses persistent challenges for the development of immunotherapies due to its extensive genetic diversity and sophisticated immune evasion mechanisms. In the field of vaccine research, antigen optimization based on reverse vaccinology, combined with the development of novel mucosal adjuvants and delivery systems, holds promise for inducing more potent and durable mucosal immune protection. Regarding immune regulation, further elucidation of the interaction mechanisms between the bacterium and the host immune system, along with interventions targeting key pathways, will advance the development of precise immunomodulatory strategies. Moreover, integrating the respective advantages of different immunotherapies with immunomodulatory adjuncts and conventional antibiotic treatments to construct multimodal synergistic therapeutic strategies represents a promising direction. However, their clinical efficacy and practical applicability must be confirmed in controlled human studies using standardized eradication endpoints alongside validated correlates of protection.
