Psychotherapies for PTSD
摘要
The chapter provides an overview of evidence-based psychotherapies used in treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), beginning with definitions of eight different therapies that use core mechanisms, such as exposure, cognitive restructuring, bilateral stimulation and narrative integration. The chapter then synthesizes meta-analytic data on the relative merits of each psychotherapy in treating PTSD and reviews the therapies endorsed in the US clinical practice guideline for the management of PTSD. The chapter concludes with an analysis of PTSD symptom-cluster outcomes, showing that different therapies variably impact different PTSD symptoms, a fact that needs to be taken into account when choosing a psychotherapy for a particular patient.
