Abnormalities in Resting State Networks in PTSD and Treatment with Electroencephalography (EEG) and Neurofeedback Interventions
摘要
Electroencephalography (EEG) methodologies are widely used in the study of PTSD, as the power of the alpha-frequency band is reduced in frontal and temporal cortical regions, correlating negatively with PTSD severity. Neurofeedback paradigms can train patients with PTSD to desynchronize their alpha during training sessions, leading to a subsequent rebound increase in resting-state alpha. Concomitantly, there is a restoration of default mode network (DMN) connectivity accompanied by significant reductions in hyperarousal and a 50–70% remission of PTSD.
