Managing Reproductive Issues in Vasculitis

摘要

Patients with vasculitis require individualized counseling for family planning. Achieving optimal reproductive health outcomes requires a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach. Disease activity in vasculitis may fluctuate during pregnancy, influenced by prepregnancy disease status and medication use before and during pregnancy. Women with vasculitis also face a higher risk of pregnancy complications compared to the general population, which may be linked to disease activity, organ damage, or specific medications. The healthcare providers need to address key reproductive health concerns, including timing of conception, management of vasculitis disease activity, and safety of diagnostic modalities (e.g., imaging, biopsy) during pregnancy. Empowering both patients and providers to engage in informed, shared decision-making about pregnancy planning, prevention, and management in the context of vasculitis is essential.
