Development of New Technologies in Metabolomics

The field of metabolomics continues to evolve, propelled by technological innovations that support the growth of precision medicine. Techniques including mass spectrometry imaging (spatial metabolomics), fluorescent probe technology, single-cell metabolomics, and metabolic flux analysis have significantly expanded our capacity to identify and quantify metabolites with remarkable sensitivity and specificity. These improvements not only promote the discovery of biomarkers essential for early disease diagnosis and prognosis but also reinforce the foundations of personalized medicine by facilitating treatment strategies customized to an individual’s metabolic profile.
