Designing an Integrated Academic Management Information System: A Bridging Operation and Insight in One Platform

This study presents the design and evaluation of the Integrated Academic Management Information System (IAMIS) for Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), addressing inefficiencies caused by fragmented systems across its 18,000-strong academic community. IAMIS consolidates key institutional functions—admission, enrollment, attendance, finance, library, research, extension, HRM, Alumni, and analytics into a one platform accessible via desktop and mobile dashboards. Using a descriptive–evaluative research design, the study surveyed 1709 respondents, such as students, faculty, and staff, through structured questionnaires and open-ended feedback. Analytical tools such as descriptive statistics, comparative analysis, heatmaps, radar charts, and sentiment analysis were employed to interpret user responses. Results showed high satisfaction levels, with mean ratings ranging from 4.46 to 4.72, especially in user interface, system features, and data security. IAMIS was praised for streamlining operations and enhancing decision-making, while robust privacy protocols like access controls and regular backups boosted user trust. However, the study highlighted the need for improved technical support and systematic feedback mechanisms to ensure sustained engagement. In conclusion, IAMIS is a well-received, integrated solution that enhances institutional efficiency, communication, and collaboration at EARIST, requiring only minor refinements in user training and support to maximize long-term impact.
