Introduction to DNA Storage Technology

Life stores data for making us who we are in the form of a beautiful molecule called DNA. It is a robust molecule storing the blueprints of life since billion of years. This book is about exploring DNA as a computing primitive, in particular, DNA storage technology. In the last 2 decades, the technology has demonstrated many benefits over traditional storage technology such as ultra storage density both in sequential and structure based approach, green storage and space efficient. It clearly shows a path to Humans storage needs from archival to dynamic re-writable storage. This Introductory chapter outlines an overview of DNA storage technology.
